Migrating to Jekyll
Migrating to Jekyll
Ah! The joy of markdown! I preferred to write text, not markup. As @gruber states at the opening, markdown allows me write simply. However, it was painful to blog with this workflow:
- write in markdown
- convert to HTML
- copy paste the HTML to blog editor
- publish
It was just too painful. Enter Jekyll. I first came across Jekyll here on allthingsdistributed.com. Tom Preston-Werner (Jekyll’s author) notes here, he needed something simpler - so he wrote Jekyll.
I liked my new munich theme, and so wrote my own index.html, default.html, post.html and css. You can see the work in progress here: aws.saicharan.in.
